Skin Needling

What is Skin Needling?

SkinPen® Precision is a microneedling device that utilises Collagen Induction Therapy to treat acne scars and fine lines & wrinkles on the face and neck. SkinPen® Precision is also found to be helpful in restoring the skin’s abnormal pigmentation activity, often found in skin conditions such as melasma and pigmentation.

SM Aesthetic Lab uses the SkinPen® for all skin needling treatments. Skin Needling is safe and effective for all skin types.

How does it work?

SkinPen® Precision creates thousands of temporary micro-channels in your skin. These tiny punctures stimulate healing and tissue regeneration through a process called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) which visibly improves the appearance of the skin, creating a radiant glow. These micro-wounds trigger your immune system to cleanse the wound, remove debris, increase blood flow and begin to create new tissue and blood supply to the area.

SkinPen® is used to treat melasma, surgical scars, acne scars, pigmentation and overall skin texture to help fight the signs of ageing.

For patient comfort, topical anaesthetic may be applied before the treatment.

Enhance your results:

Elevate your experience with SkinPen Microneedling by combining PRP for skin rejuvenation, the perfect treatment for overall antiaging and skin rejuvenation.

Similar treatments to Skin Needling, Collagen induction or Skin Pen:

1. Derma roller: A derma roller is a handheld device with tiny needles rolled over the skin to create controlled micro-injuries. Unlike our Skin Pen skin needling device, an advanced collagen induction treatment uses German technology for a more effective treatment.
2. Dermapen: The Dermapen is a handheld device that uses a series of fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin.
3. Fractional Laser Resurfacing: Fractional laser or Fraxel treatments use laser technology to create microscopic column heat in the skin, promoting skin rejuvenation.
4. Radiofrequency Microneedling: Radiofrequency (RF) or Morpheus 8 micro-needling combines traditional micro-needling with the application of radiofrequency energy.
5. PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Therapy involves using the patient’s blood to extract platelets, which are then applied to the skin during micro-needling or injected directly into the skin. It enhances healing and promotes skin rejuvenation for improved skin texture.
6. Venus Viva NanoFractional RF technology is a skin resurfacing device that uses radiofrequency energy to improve skin texture and acne scarring and address various skin concerns. Safe for all skin types. Similar to skin needling and collagen induction therapy but a lot more effective.

It’s essential to consult with a Skin Needling Specialist to determine which treatment is best suited for your specific skin type and concerns. They can assess your skin condition and recommend the most appropriate option.
